Eugeniusz Gowkielewicz, Marta Bogusz Reda, Poland 030152   The Jury awarded the grand prize to an entry which puts forth a very clear moral appeal: let’s embrace genuine amber; let’s throw away surrogates and fakes!... The Jury appreciates the courage and strong message conveyed by the entry, which manifests an idea and a concept, rather than being a design as such. The members of the Jury support the moral appeal of this entry, which demands that we take special care of natural amber, this gift of nature, especially in light of the flood of cheap materials which practically undermine the entire industry. Today it is vital that we give a positive response to such an appeal. The strong message: throw out the fakes!... is at the same time a call to choose the right way… The graphic form of this message manages to avoid banality, which is another of this entry’s assets. The risk of using a graphic illustration in a radically simplified way and of juxtaposing it with a hot slogan turned out to be the right decision, as it strengthened the power of the message.
